Using retrieval grids to review learning.

Main Hall

A retrieval grid is a series of questions presented to learners in a grid or table format. This is a strategy outlined by Kate Jones and is designed to check that concepts have been understood. At Doha College, we have used retrieval grids at the end of a unit of learning as a form of weekly review. This is line with the work of Barak Rosenshine, who found that expert teachers review previously taught material on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
